Most people say door jammers won't stop forced entries. To some point, yes. On multiple occasions, unapproved entry is discouraged by simply having the door blocked.
There are no statistics regarding this matter, but put yourself in a situation where the door is jammed and you'll know what I'm talking about. This is a great tool to delay entry of intruders if anything else. You may have bought enough time to arm yourself or call police.
You have to start by selecting a dependable door jammer door brace. The Big Jammer is a strong 20 gauge steel adjustable door brace that installs easily under door knob and provides added security for home or business. The heavier gauge steel can withstand more force. Easily adjusts to fit most hinged doors. Adjustments are made by depressing an automatic locking button through preset holes on the shaft. Rubber end caps prevents the Big Jammer door brace from slipping even on fixed carpeting (not area rug). The rubber end caps can be removed to allow for use on sliding glass doors as well. Clean, baked enamel finish makes it attractive for in-house use.
The Big Jammer Door Brace measures approximately 2 feet when retracted, and extends to 4 feet long. When using on hinged doors, adjust the length of the door jammer to allow an angle from 15 degs to 35 degs, between the door knob and floor. The door jammer will act as a wedge, pushing up against the door knob on attempts to open the door. It is not advisable to use this device on the dead bolt, since the base of dead bolts are beveled and will allow slippage.
