The publisher, InTheBible.com , October 16, 1998

Our Vision for the Bible Treasure Suite The #1 Bestseller of all time worldwide has been the Bible. It has caused more wars, more discussions, more arguments and been quoted more times than any other book. Yet, in this electronic age there has not been a well put together pack of biblical analysis tools for a price that the common man would be willing to pay.

That is, until now! InTheBible.com has changed that with The Bible Treasure Suite! The vision God has given us for The Bible Treasure Suite is that no matter what the reader's interest, entry knowledge level, or presupposed biblical ideas are, they can achieve a greater understanding and appreciation of the truths that emerge from within the pages of the Bible.

Our deepest prayer is that our vision is contagious and you will strive to participate in fulfilling the vision of making the Bible #1 again.

God Bless, InTheBible.com Staff

KJV - King James Version
This version of the Bible is also known as the Authorized Version because it was authorized and paid for by King James I. It is basically a revision of the Bishop’s Bible of 1568, which was very ornate and too expensive for the common person. The 47 translators worked 7 years and completed the work in 1611. They referenced the original Hebrew and Greek texts available at the time to update the Bishop’s Bible. For almost 400 years this version has been the most widely used and quoted English Bible. It has been revised several times and has become the standard against which all other English translations are compared.

ASV - American Standard Version
This version was published in 1901 and is essentially the same as the Revised Version of 1885, which was the first significant revision of the KJV. It was needed because over the period of almost 300 years many English words had changed in meaning. The translators at the time also had a greater knowledge of Hebrew and Greek than was available for the KJV. The Americans that were part of the revision team made several suggestions that were not included in the Revised Version. These suggestions were later implemented and the result became the American Standard Version.

Latin Vulgate Bible
Upon it’s inception, Harvard used the Latin Vulgate Bible as it’s main textbook. Jerome (c. 347-420) began his work, the Latin Vulgate Bible, in 382. In 386 he moved to Bethlehem and worked on the Old Testament. In 405 the Old Testament, as well as the rest of the New Testament was completed. Due to older Latin texts in circulation, Jerome's work was not widely popular until the nineth century. The influence of Jerome's Bible was quite extensive. For instance, the first knowledge of the Bible in the British Isles was from the Vulgate.

RVA - Spanish Bible
The Reina-Valera Actualizada was first published 1909 and is a revision of earlier Reina and Valera Spanish Bibles. Unlike some other popular Spanish Bibles this version is not a mere translation from English, but is based on the original Hebrew and Greek texts. The RVA is indexed for use with the Multi-Word Search Concordance feature. The CD-ROM also includes a Spanish Installation which installs the Spanish help file, user interface and map/picture descriptions.

Multi-Word Search Concordance
This is a complete index of the KJV, RSV and Spanish Bibles. Use operators to combine multiple words into a single search. A search for John + Baptist will find all the verses that contain both John and Baptist. A search for John / Baptist will find all the verses that contain either John or Baptist or both. A search for John - Baptist will find all the verses that contain the word John without the word Baptist. A search for "John the Baptist" will find all the verses that contain this exact phrase. Searching for bapt* will find all the verses that contain words that start with bapt -- baptize, Baptist, baptized, baptism, etc. This ability to do computerized multiple word searches is superior to standard concordances that only give partial phrases of verses containing the single word being referenced.

Nave’s Topical Bible
Sometimes you are looking for a certain subject and you can’t figure out any words in the concordance to point you to verses about that topic. No problem for the Nave’s Topical Bible. Orville J. Nave, A.M., D.D., LL.D. produced this Topical Bible while serving as a chaplain for the US Army. Originally published in the early 1900’s he said this of his work, "the result of fourteen years of delightful and untiring study of the Word of God". It consists of 20,000 plus topics and subtopics with 100,000 references to the Scriptures.

John Wesley’s Introduction and Outline of each Book
John Wesley lived from 1703 to 1791. He graduated from Oxford University and traveled to the New World to become a missionary to Georgia. He is considered one of the greatest evangelists of the 1700’s and was the founder of the Methodist church. Each introduction gives background information -- author, original audience, historical setting, etc. The outlines break down each book into logical main and sub points giving a quick overview of the book's content.

Bibleland Maps and Photos
As the old saying goes "A picture is worth a thousand words". The Bibleland maps and photos are exactly that. They assist in giving the reader a visual display of what he is reading by showing him how far it is from here to there and what it looks like here and there. The maps and photo’s work in tandem with each other if you’re looking at one you can click a corner icon to see the other and surrounding information. Each photo, city and region are linked to the Bible Names Dictionary and to any scripture that references that place.

Screensaver of Bibleland Photos
Inspiration is what every person is looking for in their life. The Bibleland Photo Screensaver is visual inspiration while you are not using your computer. A picturesque tour of the Holy Land with a fittingly superimposed scripture. Download FREE Screen Saver from the CD or from InTheBible.Com!

Matthew Henry's Commentary
Just as the King James Version is for the common man so is the Matthew Henry’s Commentary. Who has a very vivid style of explaining the verses with analogies, stories and correlations that since his time have been hard to match or duplicate. He brings some of the more difficult to deal with passages and brings about a clearer picture. The point of the commentary is not to replace personal study but compliment it either when the reader is stuck or as another viewpoint when you feel you have a grasp on the circumstances.

Hitchcock's Bible Names Dictionary
Back in Bible times a name of a place or a person had great significance. That is why this is very useful tool in getting a fuller perspective of the situation. It contains more than 2,500 Bible and Bible-related proper names and their meanings. Some Hebrew words of uncertain meaning have been left out.

Easton’s Bible Dictionary
Over time words can be ambiguous in meaning thus making it difficult for a person from one generation to the next to understand. Example, the use of the word "bad" meant not good and now it can mean better than good. That is why a Bible Dictionary is an essential tool for Bible students on all levels to bring insight into their studies.

Tooke's How to Study the Bible
The Bible has an authorship of more than 30 people spanning 1,500 years from varying occupations including prophets, kings, a rabbi, a statesman, a preacher, a philosopher, a doctor, some fishermen, a herdsman and a tax collector. With all these factors it can become difficult to understand each writer’s viewpoint. In this guide Tooke gives you an inductive, do-it-yourself approach so that you can "rightly divide the word of truth." (II Timothy 2:15) He doesn’t give you a fish, he gives you the knowledge to use the fishing tackle which was just placed in your care. Thereby giving you the ability to feed everyone around you. This is a powerful tool within itself to be used by everyone from beginners to experts.

Verse by Verse Notation
Have you ever picked up grandpa's old Bible and seen the notes, underlines and cross references written in the margins? One of the best methods of personal Bible study is with a pen and paper in hand recording your thoughts as you read. InTheBible.com's #1 Bible Software makes this as easy as clicking your mouse. Make notes and links to other passages for each verse. Whenever you come back to a verse you will see that you have made notes for that verse and can add to them if you like. Links to other passages that you add will take you instantly to those passages. Search, review and print your notes at any time. Integrate these notes into the Personal Study Templates to create an organized Bible study.

Personal Study Templates
Sometimes half of the project is just getting started. With the study templates the organization and setup are finished when you begin making it that much easier to start any study. There are different templates for different types of studies. The templates vary from word studies, to topical studies, to geographical studies, to character studies and even book or chapter study templates. With the easy to export feature you can share your studies or work on it on your laptop then transfer the information to your home PC. Also print out your templates to share with a group and you’ll impress everyone with your organizational skills.
